"The Green Paddler"

Paddlers around the state have been gathering up cans, bottles, and plastics in order to generate revenue to purchase canoes, paddles, paddling gear, and to defray race entry fees all year long.

What a great way to protect our Eco-system here in Hawai'i, and keep paddling affordable at the same time!

With gas prices topping $4 a gallon in California today, some of that recyclable cash will likely help pay for gas to get to and from paddling practice as well!

Collect cans and bottles from family and friends, and redeem them at a recycle station like the one opposite Charlie's Shop on Puuhale Street. You plop your bag(s) of separated recyclables on the the scale, get paid, and pau. They have those upright machines which accept a can at a time too, but it takes longer then just weighing it which is much faster.

Comments on additional sources and opportunities of earning income, to offset personal paddling expenses are most welcome and greatly appreciated!

You've called us with some really cool ones already including selling stuff on ebay, Jamba Juice Coupons/Mugs, and Zippy's chili tickets.

Keep those comments comin'!

"Congratulations To Our 2007 Starbucks Ka'iwi Channel Relay Finishers!"

"The joy of the LORD is our strength."

Another beautiful day in the sun with surf on the ocean to bring back 5 New Hope Canoe Club paddlers. Rooke, Mike, Gary, Patrick, and Wendell, from Moloka'i, through the Ka'iwi Channel, to O'ahu.

It's just an inspiration to know that GOD is with us all the time!
