Crew,Just got off the phone with Coach Clayton, and he requests that paddlers who are available to help carry canoe meet tomorrow morning (7-17/Tuesday) at the Waimanalo Jack-In-The Box at 9:30 AM (sharp).
- 9:15 - 9:30 AM: Meet in the parking lot adjacent to the Waimanalo Jack-In-The-Box.
- 9:30: Coach Clay arrives, we saddle up and convoy to nearby Brent Bixler's, and carry the Aloha into his canoe repair shop.
For those of you who have never had the pleasure, it's a lot of fun to see canoes in various stages of being built and/or repaired.
Before leaving for Oregon today, Charlie and Kathy asked us to let you know that there will be a special memorial presentation in honor of our brother Michael Tongg before the start of this Sunday's O.H.C.A. Championship Races at Ke'ehi Lagoon. We are all encouraged to turn out en masse to celebrate the life of this incredible gentleman. The commemorative t-shirt which is sold every year at the O.H.C.R.A. Championship Races will also have a special tribute to Mike printed on it. Memorial services will be held during the weekend of August 11-12 (more information to follow as it becomes available).
