"It Takes A Church"

Seventy-Three New Hope Canoe Club Wahine & Kane Paddlers, Coaches, Boat Drivers, Deckhands, and Boat Helpers will be competing in tomorrow's prestigious 39th Annual Duke Kahanamoku Classic Long Distance Race.

Scores of NHCC Ohana, friends, and supporters will watch the race kick-off from Kailua Beach, and then from other select viewing spots along the course's scenic ocean route. The race finishes at the Duke Kahanamoku Beach in front of the Hilton Hawaiian Village, with crews crossing the finish line at about noon.

GOD has blessed our canoe club with people such as Charlie Thurston, Blane Gaison, Cy Kalama, and Clayton Kaichi, whose dedication, expertise, and leadership allows our club to enter a whole lotta' racers all long distance season long, year after blessed year.

When you get a chance, please thank them for all they do.

To all who will be on and off the water tomorrow, have fun, and stay safe!
