"One2Dream!"

I first "met" Guy Wilding late last week, on the eve of the Na Wahine O Ke Kai.

As the leader of his crew, which would soon be flying in from Australia, Italy, and San Diego, he was looking for an escort boat, and making sure everything else was solidly in place before next month's Moloka'i Hoe.

The nice thing about this story is that Guy, is a real nice guy.

After getting back from Moloka'i, we "talked story," how much of a blast both of our wives had paddling in this year's race (largest field in its history), and how the journey leading up to the race was as rewarding, and likely more so.

Guy told me that his wife wrote about her Moloka'i race experience to a hometown newspaper in Australia, and I asked if I could share it with the rest of the club.

It's a wonderful letter which exemplifies the heart and spirit of an Olympian.

Our very best wishes to Shelley Oates-Wilding, as she prepares for next year's Summer Olympics in Beijing, China.
