Actually, quite a bit.
- Stay positive
- Never give up
- Keep coming to practice
- Participate
Opportunities to help-
Friday, August 15, 7:00 AM, Kailua Beach Park (State & City Holiday)
- Meet with Coach Clayton to unload trailered canoes
- Practice makes perfect. Learn how to rig*. Your crew will expect you to know how. The "blend" begins long before the race does
Sunday, August 17, 6:30 AM, Kailua Beach Park
- Cheer on our wahine and kane racers in exciting back-to-back long distance races
- Help carry canoes
- Help carry supplies to escort boats
Sunday, August 17, 1:00 PM, Duke Kahanamoku Beach (fronting the Hilton Hawaiian Village)
- Greet, offer refreshments, help carry supplies from escort boats
- Volunteer to paddle one of our two canoes back to Sand Island
- Wash, cover, and lock canoes
- Wash and dry canoe racing canvasses
If paddling is all you want or care to participate in, the honor and privilege of crossing the Ka'iwi Channel one day will be a hollow experience.
In or out of the canoe, we are all part of ONE TEAM!
In HIS Kanu With U!
*Rigging date/time is at the discretion of the racing crew.
